SIKESTON - Carl Irvin Thomann, 84, died at 10:05 p.m. Feb. 6, 2005, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

Born Dec. 25, 1920, in Morehouse, son of the late Irvin M. and Lillie Be. West Thomann, he owned the Circle Gas Company. He was also a truck driver and had been employed by the W.S. McMullin Construction Co., Kellett Oil Co. and Moore Co. He was a member of Illinois Avenue General Baptist Church.

On March 15, 1940, in Benton, he married Samantha C. Tanner who preceded him in death on Feb. 27, 2004.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth R. and Pat Thomann of Paducah, Ky.; one daughter, B. Carlene Tinsley of Sikeston; six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; and cousins, including Donna Evans of Sikeston.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Gaylord Grindstaff, pastor of Illinois Avenue General Baptist Church, will officiate.

Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Charley Tinsley III, Ken Thomann Jr., Rick Bohnert, Bob Ormes, Keith Jones and Larry Jones.
