Born March 12, 1920, in Double Springs, Ala., son of the late William Jackson and Flora Jane Curtis Welborn, he was a farmer for many years and a mill worker for the Scott County Milling Company before retiring. He had a large vegetable garden on North Street for many years.
On Oct. 30, 1947, he married Martha Sue Spraggs who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Terry Ottinger of Sikeston; one sister, Murl Francis of Sikeston; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were three brothers, Blake Welborn, Fois Welborn and Curtis Welborn; and two sisters, Essie Johnson and Lois Welborn.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Ponder Funeral Home where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Marvin Butrum will officiate.
Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
