SIKESTON -- Fannie Mae Davis Lane Simmons, 99, died June 4, 2003, at the Miner Nursing Center.

Born Sept. 3, 1903, in Martin, Tenn., daughter of the late Lorenza Dow and Martha Jane Lane Davis, she was a member of the Willingham (Tenn.) Baptist Church.

She was first married to Buford "Shorty" Lane and later married Connie Simmons. Her husbands preceded her in death.

Survivors include: one daughter, Maglyn Nelson of Sikeston; six grandchildren, Brenda Pratt of Mablevale, Ark., Mike Nelson, Ann Sharp and John Burton of Sikeston, Karan Johnson of Lakeland, Fla., and Virginia Mae Edwards of Cowetta, Okla.; and 12 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were one daughter, Virginia Cox; and four brothers and four sisters.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. John Bouldrey, pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene, will officiate.

Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
