WAPPAPELLO -- J.W. "Dub" Young, 79, died March 7, 2005, at his home in Wappapello.
Born Nov. 15, 1925, in Fagus, son of the late John Wesley and Agnus Oldham Young, he was a resident of Qulin and Doniphan before moving to Wappapello in 1979. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Puxico.
On Dec. 19, 1945, in Poplar Bluff, he married Mary "Dean" Young who preceded him in death on Aug. 13, 2003.
Survivors include: four sons and daughters-in-law, John Wayne and Brenda Young and Mack Allen and Mary Young of Naylor and Larry Dale and Kathy Young and William Micheal and Beverly Young of Poplar Bluff; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Jim Jackson of Wappapello; three sisters, Virginia Craft of Hardy, Ark., Marcella Hudson of Bowling Green, Ky., and Laura Lampkin of St. Louis; and 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. Thursday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday with Terry Stockton of Sikeston officiating.
Burial will follow in the Puxico Cemetery.
