Ruby Goforth

CATRON - Ruby Goforth, 90, died March 16, 2003, at the Sikeston Health Care Center.

Born Feb. 25, 1913, in Lepanto, Ark., daughter of the late Charlie and Irene Staples Woodruff, she was a teacher for the Kewanee and Parma public schools. A member of the First Baptist Church in Parma, she was also a member of the Extension Club, Parma Senior Citizens and an Ombudsman.

On Jan. 25, 1936, in Wilson, Ark., she married J.L. "Buddy" Goforth who preceded her in death on Jan. 30, 1978.

Two sisters, Thelma Campbell and Mary Rowland, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include: one son, Jim Goforth of Catron; three brothers, Charley Woodruff of Truman, Ark., John Woodruff of Pangburn, Ark., and Wilford Woodruff of Florida; three sisters, Hazel Woodruff and Opal Ward of Trumann, Ark., and Cora Lee Wimpy of Valley View, Ark.; and three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 5:30 to 8 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Parma.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Parma with the Rev. John Girdley of Parma officiating.

Burial will follow in the Hagy Cemetery at Dexter.
