CHAFFEE -- Adella Mary Schmitt, 83, died at 10:42 p.m. May 19, 2003, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born May 2, 1920, in New Hamburg, daughter of the late Herman Joseph and Mary Amelia Scherer Glueck, she was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and the Daughters of St. Ambrose in Chaffee.
On Aug. 26, 1947, she married William Frank Schmitt who preceded her in death on Jan. 9, 1993.
Survivors include: two daughters, Elaine Schlegel of Chaffee and Paula Worley of Millersville; one sister, Marietta Giese of Fenton; two granddaughters, Michelle Daniel of Cape Girardeau and Rachael Daniel of Chaffee; and six stepgrandchildren and six stepgreat-grandchildren.
Three brothers and six sisters also preceded her in death.
Visitation begins at 5 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee where parish prayers will be recited at 7 p.m.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee. The Rev. Ralph Duffner, pastor, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the St. Lawrence Catholic Church Cemetery in New Hamburg.
Pallbearers will be: Jason Townsend, Larry Glueck, G.P. Glueck, Ray Spies, Rick Whitworth and Cyril Glueck.
Honorary pallbearers will be: P.J. Schott, Larry Glaus, Jeff Schmitt and Melvin Goetz.
