ST. LOUIS - Essye Mae Cato, 73, died March 4, 2005, at the St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis.
Born Aug. 6, 1931, at Kinder, daughter of the late Cassie Jack and Murl Stroup Watson, she had lived in the Kinder area until moving to St. Louis in 1952. A member of the Church of God and the Mother's Club, she was a homemaker and had worked as a certified nurse's aide for eight years.
On Nov. 6, 1948, at Bloomfield, she married James Cato who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons, James Dale Cato of St. Louis and Larry Gale Cato of Cibolo, Texas; four daughters, Beverly Engler, Barbara Seaton, LeDeana Stahl and LeDonna Cato of St. Louis; one sister, Almedia Eichhorn of Pevely; and eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one grandson, Daniel.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with Gary Cooper of Advance officiating.
Burial will follow in the Brush Creek Cemetery near Arab.
