Naidene Sherman

ADVANCE - Naidene Marie Sherman, 71, died Dec. 19, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Oct. 18, 1932, in Brownwood, daughter of the late Fred and Violet Black Phelps, she was a receptionist for Morgan Funeral Home for three years. A graduate of Advance High School, she was also a member of the Advance First Baptist Church.

On Sept. 30, 1950, at Pocha, Ark., she married Bill Sherman who preceded her in death on Feb. 8, 1992.

Survivors include: two sons, the Rev. Brad Sherman of Iowa City, Iowa, and Matt Sherman of Advance; one daughter, Cindy Corse of Independence; three sisters, Pauline Schwarz of Naples, Fla., Minnie Meeker of Nixa and Patsy Puchbauer of Cape Girardeau; and nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were one brother, Doyle Phelps; and one sister, Dorothy Lucas.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Home, where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Brad Sherman will officiate.

Burial will follow in Morgan Memorial Park at Advance.
