Mob violence ruins Fourth of July fun

Maybe it's just a coincidence but did you notice that 4th of July fireworks seemed to cause more than their share of concerns this year? In St. Louis, a police officer was killed when he responded to a dispute between neighbors over fireworks. In Atlanta, a now-famous incident involved thugs firing fireworks into passing vehicles. One man was dragged from his truck and savagely beaten by the street gang. And closer to home, a Cape Girardeau police officer was injured when struck on the head by a member of an unruly crowd as he responded to a fireworks' complaint.
