CHARLESTON - Shirley Bryant Reeves, 69, died at 6:46 p.m. April 16, 2005, at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Born Nov. 7, 1935, in Diehlstadt to Stella M. Bryant of Sikeston and the late Paul Bryant, she had lived her entire life in Charleston where she was employed as the secretary at the Charleston High School and was a member of the First Baptist Church.

On April 18, 1954, she married Byron "Barney" Reeves, who survives of the home.

Also surviving are: two sons and a daughter-in-law, Byron "Buddy" and Connie Reeves of Charleston and Jeffory Alan Reeves of New York City, N.Y.; one daughter and son-in-law, Melody Rae and Thomas "Tom" Smith of Valencia, Calif.; two sisters, Barbara Szabo of Mio, Mich., and Paula Harper of Sikeston; and one grandson, Byron Lee Reeves III of Charleston.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Charleston with the Rev. Keith Huffman, interim pastor of the First Baptist Church of Charleston, officiating.

Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Hunter Rolwing, Jamie Pollock, Robert Neal Morgan, Bill Spaulding, Dean Wethington and Bob Graham.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Kenneth Reeves, Carl Asa, Duane Eastman, Glennon Johnson, Don Harper Jr., Bill Reeves, Gary Burnett and Robert Morgan.
