BERTRAND - James H. Ezzell, 75, died at 11:55 a.m. April 17, 2005, at his residence in Bertrand.
Born March 27, 1930, in Red Bay, Ala., to the late Charles V. and Effie P. Mitchell Ezzell, he lived most of his life in Bertrand where he was a member of the United Methodist Church and was a farmer until his retirement.
On April 8, 1953, he married Helen L. Chandler, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are: three daughters and sons-in-law, Dianne L. and William Priest of Columbia, Janie L. and Derek Wheeler of Sikeston and Susan E. and Kevin D. White of Bertrand; two brothers, Charles Mitchell Ezzell of Whitewater and Jack D. Ezzell of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Joyce McKinley of Bertrand, Jeanette Kalman of Lawrence, Kan., and Betty Gilbert of Alton, Ill.; four grandchildren, Colin J. Priest, Elana S. White, Daniel K. White and Gabe C. Wheeler; and special extended family, L.D. and Molly Stidham and their daughters, Amy Dugan and Ashleigh Humphreys.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Lois McRill, pastor of the Bertrand United Methodist Church, and the Rev. Roger Jespersen, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Charleston, will officiate.
Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Colin Priest, Daniel White, Gabe Wheeler, Elana White, Dennis Quertermous, John Ezzell, Allen McKinley and Fray Morrow.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Hodgkiss, David Ezzell, George Simmons, Curtis Jobe, Howard Benson, Denny Ray Quertermous, Keith Quertermous, Clark Quertermous, Steve Morrow and Matthew Morrow.
