STREATOR, Ill. -- Eugene Thomas Dufur, 66, died March 23, 2008, at St. Mary's Hospital.
Born Sept. 5, 1941, in Arkansas, to the late James and Nova Roland Dufur, he retied from Caterpillar in Pontiac, was a member of the National Rifle Association and was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, serving during the Vietnam War.
On May 20, 1967, he married Bonnie Elliott who preceded him in death on March 10, 1998.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd Dufur and Clifford Dufur; two sisters, Betty Burnett and Lorene Ward; and two siblings in infancy.
Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Lori Dufur and Jason and Kristine Dufur of Streator; two daughters and one son-in-law, Kimberly and Scott Melvin and Kelly Dufur of Streator; two brothers, Jerry Dufur of Port Byron and Bill Dufur of Moline; four sisters, Irene Crowden, Ruby McRoy and Geneva Forrest of Sikeston, Mo., and Jimmy Blais of E. Moline; and 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Winterrowd Funeral Home in Streator.
Burial followed in Hillcrest Memorial Park with full military honors conducted by the Streator VFW and American Legion.
