SIKESTON - Three Sikeston residents were injured, one seriously, in an accident that occurred over the weekend.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at 4:32 p.m. Sunday on U.S. 60, one mile west of Sikeston when an eastbound vehicle driven by Charles Mulcahy, 17, ran into the rear of an eastbound vehicle driven by Matthew Davis, 18, who was then pushed into an eastbound vehicle driven by Howard Payne, 68.
According to reports, Payne and Davis had been stopped for another accident when they were hit.
Mulcahy was seriously injured and taken by helicopter to Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. Davis was treated for minor injuries at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
