Steering committee members for the Southeast Missouri Economic Development Alliance met Tuesday at the Sikeston Area Higher Education Center in Sikeston to finalize preparations for the SMEDA Spring Conference scheduled for April 1. Steering committee members pictured from left are: Connie Duke, economic development director for the Bootheel Regional Planning and Economic Development Commission at Malden; Steve Duke, executive director of the BRPC; J.W. Hackworth of Atmos Energy; Mike Meyer of the Associated Electric Cooperative; Gordon Waller, president and CEO of First State Bank and Trust Company in Caruthersville; and steering committee chairman Steve McPheeters of Noranda/St. Jude Industrial Park.
