WYATT - Joseph Bailey "Joe" Goodall, 89, died July 21, 2005, at the home of his daughter in Vina, Ala.
Born April 24, 1916, at Marion, Ill., son of the late Charlie Richard and Lue Etta Fowler Goodall, he had lived most of his life in Wyatt where he was a member of the Wyatt Baptist Church. He had been employed with the American Can Company in Illinois, the Valley Steel Company and then the Burkhart Company of Cairo, Ill., until his retirement. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
On Feb. 14, 1940, he married Nellie Janette Corbett who preceded him in death on July 31, 1991.
One brother, Charley Homer Goodall, and one sister, Cora Jane Heinsohn, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include: three daughters, Linda Ruge of Stone Park, Ill., Jo Nell Beiler of Oswego, Ill., and Rachel Boyd of Vina, Ala.; two brothers, John Goodall of Gassville, Ark., and Ernest "Rip" Goodall of Granite City, Ill.; one sister, Clara Mae Heffner of Delta; and eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time for services at 11 a.m. Saturday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston with the Rev. Tom Bridges of Bertrand officiating.
Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.
Pallbearers will be: Jason Beiler, Robert Ruge, Brian Beerup, Johnny Groves, Wayne Palmer and Stephen Bailey.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Jeremy Bailey, J.L. Groves, Warren Palmer and Ed Todd.
