DEXTER - Wilma Ringer, 81, died July 22, 2005, in the Crowley Ridge Care Center at Dexter.
Born Sept. 11, 1923, at Hardin, Ill. daughter of the late Fred Long and Myrta Mollohan Long, she graduated from Des Arc, Mo., High School and went on to attend Southeast Missouri State University. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter, playing piano in the primary department, a member of the State Democratic Committee and a lifetime member of Missouri Historical Society.
On Sept. 11, 1943, at Garden City, Kan., she married Carl Jean Ringer, who preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 1997.
One son, Robert Lance Ringer; and three sisters, Avis Long, Elsie Silliman and Mabel McSpadden, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, Dr. C. Nelson and Jane Ringer of Cape Girardeau and William F. Ringer of Lees Summit; one daughter and son-in-law, Carole Jean and Jim Vaughn of Dexter; two sisters, Verna Lewis of Van Buren and Macel Seal of Piedmont; and one grandson, David Nelson Ringer of Lees Summit.
Visitation is from 1:30 p.m. until service time at 2:30 p.m. today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter. The Rev. Louis J. Lowe will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
