NEW MADRID - Virginia Katharine Mount Gallivan, 91, died March 17, 2005, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Jan. 7, 1914, to the late Frank E. and Nelle C. Short Mount, she was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Madrid.

On Nov. 17, 1938, in Cape Girardeau, she married Thomas John Gallivan, who preceded her in death on March 3, 1999. Also preceding her in death were two daughters, Sue Katharine Brooks, and Eleanor Jane Johnson; three sisters, Lucile Mount, Edna Mount Turner and Carrie Nelle Mount Hancock; and one brother, Willard Mount.

Survivors include: three granddaughters and one grandson-in-law, Emily Katherine and Matt LaValle of Jackson and Virginia Louise Johnson and Letitia Ann Johnson of California, Mo.; one stepgrandson, Allen Lloyd Brooks of Grove City, Ohio; one son-in-law, Hugh Brooks of Grove City, Ohio; and 19 nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid where a Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.

A funeral Mass will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Immaculate Conception Church in New Madrid with Monsignor Michael Swalina officiating assisted by the Rev. Randy Tochtrop.

Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.
