Wilson edges Thomason at Sikeston Drag Strip

SIKESTON -- William Wilson of Arcadia won the Super Pro division on opening night at the Sikeston Drag Strip on Saturday.

Wilson's run covered an elapsed time of 5.608 seconds with a dial-in of 5.59. His speed was 123.35 mph with a reaction time of .526 seconds.

Royce Thomason of Malden was second in the Super Pro class with an elapsed time of 6.022 with a dial-in of 6.04. He averaged 113.35 mph with a reaction time of .512.

In the Pro division, Rodney Jones of Caledonia was the winner with an elapsed time of 5.851 with a dial-in of 5.85. His run averaged 116.67 mph with a reaction time of .514.

Runner-up in the Pro class was Jason Phillips of Granite City, Ill., averaging 70.71 mph with an elapsed time of 9.494 and a 9.44 dial-in. His reaction time was .500.

In the ET division, Larry Layton of Dexter was the winner.

Layton had an elapsed time of 8.729 with a dial-in of 8.71. He ran at 77.46 mph with a reaction time of .544.

Placing second in the ET class was Richard Smith of Bloomfield in an elapsed time of 9.658 with a dial-in of 9.64. He averaged 71.90 mph with a reaction time of .618.
