Former residents mark anniversary
TUCSON, Ariz. - Ed and Eloise Ring, formerly of Sikeston, Mo., celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Valentine's Day. Their two daughters and son-in-law, Kimberly Ring and Pamela and Stephen Shell and two grandchildren, Dustin and Brittni Shell, hosted a dinner at a restaurant in Tucson, Ariz., in honor of the occasion.
Mr. and Mrs. Ring, who were married in 1942, became members of North Acres General Baptist Church in Sikeston nearly 50 years ago. He served as a deacon, Sunday school superintendent and Sunday school teacher. Mrs. Ring's services to the church included Ladies Missionary Society, Quilting Circle, coordinated special events decorations and served in various other duties.
Ring operated Bootheel Dairy and distributed milk and other dairy products in the Sikeston and surrounding areas for 40 years before retiring.
In October 2001, they sold their home and relocated to Tucson.
The couple plans to take an anniversary trip to the Red Rock area of Sedona, Ariz.
