Matthew Head, a kindergartener at Morehouse Elementary, counts money to purchase a cooler. Also purchasing items, donated by parents and families, are Jacob Smith and Bethany Brown. His teacher, Mattie Trum, set up a play store to teach students the coins and their value. Students were rewarded for good behavior and papers. The children not only learned about money but also the rewards of good work and saving. While Matthew said he learned a lot about money, he also learned about the patience needed for saving for a goal. "I really wanted the cooler for my club house and Mrs. Trum said that it would take a person who saved to get the cooler," he explained. According to Trum, nobody has saved their money like Matthew over the years.
