CHARLESTON - Jack Waggoner, son of Mr. and Mrs. R.G. Waggoner of Charleston, has received an appointment to West Point, United States Military Academy. He is the nephew of Mrs. Leroy Leslie of Sikeston.

SIKESTON - For several years 100 high school boys and girls, members of the senior high school concert choir have given their time and energies to entertain civic clubs, churches and other bodies with concerts. Tuesday night the Kiwanis Club presented a plaque to Gordon Beaver for outstanding community service.

SIKESTON - The unbeaten Sikeston Bulldogs cruised easily to their eighth straight win of the season yesterday afternoon by blasting the Scott Central Braves 21-3 in the semifinals of the sub-district baseball tournament.

SIKESTON - A Jan Zeller artwork, the Art of the Month offering for April, was won by Marietta Whitworth. A dollar donation still buys a chance to win one of the eight prizes yet to be awarded in 1984.

SIKESTON - After the music stops on prom night, the partying won't. The parents are once again preparing for the post-prom. It is a way to ensure that the party-goers will have fun but will also be safe. This is the ninth year that the post-prom is being organized by a group of parents.

SIKESTON - Several morning students at Sikeston Kindergarten Center have been recognized for showing good citizenship during the month of April. These students include: Justin Winkler, Abbey Lambert, Tyler Wallace, Micah McDonnough, Elijah Ward, Kristina Draper, Victoria Marshall, Amanda Davis and Blake Walker.
