Born Feb. 26, 1914, in Essex, daughter of the late Alonzo and Katherine Mann Hawley, she lived in Sikeston since 1947. A member of Fellowship Baptist Church since 1955, she was also a member of VFW Post 3174 Ladies Auxiliary.
On Dec. 8, 1934, in Essex, she married Harvey O. Capps who preceded her in death on Feb. 2, 2000.
Survivors include: one son, Dale Capps of Sikeston; one daughter, LaVerne Hager of Twin Lake, Mich.; two brothers, Roy Hawley and Russell Hawley of Flint, Mich.; three grandchildren, Michelle Capps Jewell of Swanson, Ill., Bruce Hager of Twin Lake and Cathy Hager of Riesendbeck, Mich.; and three great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Also preceding her in death were one brother, T.J. Hawley; and one great-great-grandson.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Joe McCullough, pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
