WARNER ROBINS, Ga. -- Corrine G. Purnell, 85, formerly of Charleston, Mo., died May 9, 2005, in Georgia.
Born Dec. 9, 1919, in Crenshaw, Miss., to the late Augustas and Fedo Burnett, she was a supervisor at the Host House Retirement Home in Charleston until her retirement in 1985. She was a member of the Perry Chapel A.M.E. Church for over 50 years.
On May 22, 1946, she married William D. Purnell who preceded her in death on Dec. 24, 2003.
One son, Leroy J. Purnell, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Debra Purnell of Warner Robins; and five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. today at the Perry Chapel A.M.E. Church in Charleston with the Rev. Kevin Jacques Sr., pastor, officiating.
Burial will be at 9 a.m. Monday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, Mo.
Williams Funeral Home of Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
