CHAFFEE -- Roy Bell, 91, died May 18, 2005, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Born Nov. 14, 1913, in Chaffee, son of the late Nora Florence Redfern and William Franklin Bell, he was a retired line foreman for Missouri Utilities in Chaffee. A charter member of the Local Union 702 I.B.E.W.-West Frankfort, Ill., he was a former member of the Chaffee City Council, served on the Chaffee School Board for five years as vice president and was past president of the Chaffee Rotary Club. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Chaffee, St. Marks Masonic Lodge 93 in Cape Girardeau, York Rite Chapter Council Commandary in Cape Girardeau, Scottish Rite in St. Louis and Chaffee Elks Lodge 1810.

On Sept. 26, 1937, he married Mildred Dennis who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Mary Lou Spalding of Mission Hills, Kan., and Sharon Bell of Chaffee; one brother, Russell Bell of Cape Girardeau; and one grandson.

One sister preceded him in death.

Visitation is after 4 p.m. Friday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Cliff Day will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Marty Blakey.

Burial will follow in the Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley.
