Harless claims first place Super Pro with perfect run at Sikeston Drag Strip

SIKESTON -- Here are the April 6 results from the Sikeston Drag Strip:

A perfect run netted Rick Harless $2,000 and the Super Pro win at the Sikeston Drag Strip on Saturday night. The Calvert City, Ky., native ran 5.60 on a 5.60 dial at 114 m.p.h. His reaction time was a .500 lite. Rick said in 30 years of racing, this was his first perfect run.

In second place, Paragould's Jason Tritch ran 5.80 on a 5.79 dial at 117 m.p.h. His reaction time was .512.

Greg Harty, of Dudley, won the Pro Class with a 7.01 dial. He ran 7.00 at 98 m.p.h. His reaction time was .579. Sikeston's Alan Kettles took second with a 7.29 dial. He ran 7.26 at 91 m.p.h. His reaction time was .563.

Bill Cannon, of Golconda, Ill., took top honors in E.T. with a 7.85 dial. He ran 7.89 at 87 m.p.h. His reaction time was .671. Second place went to Marble Hill's Michael Van Deven. He ran 8.44 on a 8.48 dial at 81 m.p.h. His reaction time was .568.
