PORTAGEVILLE - Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Allen Kimes have announced the engagement of their daughter, Kristen Marie, to Freddie Eric Hill, son of Mr. and Mrs. Freddie Hill of Portageville.
A junior at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, where she is majoring in early childhood education, the future bride is a member of the Kappa Delta Pi international education honor society.
The prospective bridegroom is also a junior at Southeast Missouri State University where his major is physics and minor is chemistry. He is a dispatcher with the Portageville Police Department. He completed the Police Academy in August 2001 and was commissioned as an officer.
Wedding plans are being finalized for a May 18 ceremony at St. Eustachius Catholic Church in Portageville.
