SIKESTON - Gary and Kathy Kinder and George and Geri Gilmore Jr. have announced the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Jean Gilmore, to Mr. Shea Bird, son of Shabie Bird of Advance and the late Michael Bird.

The future bride is a 1998 graduate of Sikeston High School and the prospective bridegroom, a graduate of Advance High School, is employed by Kirby Inland Marine.

Wedding plans are under way for a May 11 ceremony.
