HAYWOOD CITY - Morean Weakly-Hamilton, 85, died Dec. 21, 2002.

Born June 3, 1917, to Silas and Everleana Weakly, she was a member of the New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church where she was secretary for many years. Also she was a member of the University Extension Club and a 4-H leader during her early adult life.

Surviving are six sons and four daughters-in-law, Lee Hamilton, Michael and Connie Hamilton of Haywood City, Don and Ethel Weakly of Cape Girardeau, Robert and Berniece Hamilton of St. Louis, Carl and Ethel Hamilton and Richard Farrar of Sikeston; five daughters and sons-in-law, the Rev. Johnny and Earlean Thomas, James and Mary Curry of Cape Girardeau, Joe and Patricia Cagle of Caruthersville and Frederick and Phyllis Rowe and Kenny and Beverly Morris of Sikeston; three sisters, Roberta Penermon of Cape Girardeau, Lillie Young of Memphis, Tenn., and Velma Cotton of St. Louis; and 55 grandchildren including a grandson and granddaughter of Sikeston whom she raised; 80 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church. Also visitation will be from noon until time of services at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Green Memorial Church of God in Christ in Sikeston.

Burial will follow in the Haywood City Cemetery under the direction of Williams-Farr and Purnell Funeral Home of Sikeston.
