SIKESTON -- Earl O. Culbertson, 85, died at 11:43 a.m. March 10, 2005, at Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston.
Born March 7, 1920, in Farmington, son of the late Otto and Birdie Harrelson Culbertson, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Early in his life he lived in New Madrid County and then in the St. Louis area for about 20 years until moving back to Sikeston in 1983. He worked as a mechanic and shop foreman at Lewis Motor Co. in New Madrid for many years and retired from General Cable Co. in St. Louis after 30 years.
On Nov. 18, 1943, in New Madrid, he married Ellen Rice who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Dan and Lanie Culbertson of Florissant and Billy and Peggy Culbertson of St. Peters; one daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Gerald Jackson of Sikeston; one sister, Jane Jones of Rome, Ga.; and seven grandchildren and four great-
One brother, Robert Culbertson, and one sister, Marie Culbertson, preceded him in death.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Tom Geers will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery at New Madrid.
