ROLLA - Mildred Lucille Parker, 85, formerly of New Madrid and Sikeston, died at 8:15 a.m. May 16, 2004, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center.
Born Nov. 5, 1918, in Malden, daughter of the late George Henry and Ica Lennis Harris Moore, she was a member of the New Madrid Baptist Church and former member of Eagles Aerie 3319 Ladies Auxiliary in Sikeston. She was a volunteer at Sells Rest Home in Matthews for many years. For the past three years, she resided in Rolla and Collierville, Tenn., with her daughters.
On July 5, 1935, in New Madrid, she married James Harve "Jim" Parker who preceded her in death on March 10, 1967.
Survivors include: two daughters, Sherma Cox of Rolla and Jamie Shelby of Collierville; one daughter-in-law, Phyllis Parker of Sikeston; two brothers, George Moore of Parma and Billy Moore of St. Louis; three sisters, Louise Smith Dollie Wills and Virginia Phillips of St. Louis; and seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were three children, two infants and a son, Linzle Parker; and one brother and four sisters.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, where services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Gary Henson, pastor of the New Madrid Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in New Madrid.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Mike Cox, Bryan Cox, Jim Parker, Sydney Daniels, Beth Fletcher, Doug Shelby and Scott Shelby.
