EAST PRAIRIE -- Bobby Joe Weems, 69, died at 9:18 p.m. Jan. 16, 2005, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
Born Feb. 19, 1935, in Ridgely, Tenn., son of the late James Irl and Beulah O'Dell Stinnett Weems, he had lived most of his life in East Prairie. He retired as a maintenance machinist.
On Nov. 5, 1953, in Charleston, he married Playfair Elouise Chavers who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Lee and Judy L. Weems of Arnold; three sisters, Faye McGill and Bonnie McClain of East Prairie and Golden Day of Addison, Ala.; two grandsons, Mark Steven and Kenneth Todd Weems of Arnold; and four great-grandchildren.
One infant son, two infant daughters, four brothers and two sisters also preceded him in death.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday. Mike Johnson will officiate.
Burial will follow in the East Prairie Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Bobby Carlyle, Phillip Carlyle, Larry Boyer, Curtis Boyer, Eugene Weems and Tony Day.
