DEXTER - Herman Lee Schacherbauer, 72, died Feb. 17, 2005, at Missouri Southern Healthcare.

Born Feb. 12, 1933, in Canalou, son of the late Joseph and Alma Katheryn Ploense Schacherbauer, he retired as a dispatcher for the Dexter Police Department. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War and member of Calvary Baptist Church, Eagles and the American Legion in Dexter.

On May 7, 1955, in St. Louis, he married Christine Riddle who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Phillip Schacherbauer of Ava; two daughters, Carol Gilbow and Linda Vaughn of Dexter; one brother, Harry Schacherbauer of Tucson, Ariz.; and four grandchildren and two great-


He was preceded in death by two brothers, Herschel Schacherbauer and Harold Schacherbauer; and two sisters, Helen Furlong and Henrietta Wyman.

Visitation is from 9 a.m. Saturday until service time at 11 a.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. The Rev. Bob Wiggins of Dexter will officiate.

The Stoddard County Veterans Honor Team will conduct graveside military honors at the Bluff Cemetery near Idalia.
