MATTHEWS - Hubert Farrell Bewley, 72, died at 7:10 a.m. Feb. 17, 2005, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born March 26, 1932, in London, Ark., son of the late Raymond Elmer and Grace Cox Bewley, he was a self-employed welder and mechanic and operated Bewley's Garage in Matthews.
On June 8, 1951, at Piggott, Ark., he married Shirley Trail who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three sons, Bruce Edward Bewley of Branson, Farrell Wayne Bewley of Matthews and Daren Kevin Bewley of Moncks, S.C.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Darlene Bewley Polk of Matthews and Jennifer Michelle and Chad Morgan of Sikeston; five brothers, Sonny Bewley, John Bewley and Buster Bewley of Jonesboro, Ark., Sherman Bewley of South Bend, Ind., and Tom Bewley of East Prairie; three sisters, Jan Carter of Cedarville, Ark., and Evelyn Baker and Joetta Bandy of Jonesboro; seven grandchildren, Melissa Jobe of Sikeston, Mason Bewley of Forrest City, Ark., Brandy Bewley of Branson, Lucas Polk of Matthews, Shane Bewley of Matthews, Shanan Bewley of Matthews and Brenden Morgan of Sikeston; four great-grandchildren, Eric Jobe and Kevin Jobe of Sikeston and Jacob Bewley and Jadden Bewley of Forrest City; several nieces and nephews; and two special friends, Linda Williamson and June Eastwood of Sikeston.
He was preceded in death by one son, Keith Elmer Bewley, on Dec. 26, 1979, and one brother, Jack Bewley.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Don Heitman, pastor of the Matthews Nazarene Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be: Lucas Polk, Farrell Bewley, Daren Bewley, Fred Graham, Paul Reed and Joe Sparks.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Joe Shanks, Mike Proffer, Bruce Depro, Bill Huffstutler, Connie Mac Sells and Gerald Settles.
