DESOTO - Samuel Lee "Sam" Wyman, 55, formerly of Parma, died Dec. 10, 2002, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, following an lengthy battle with cancer.
Born April 12, 1947, at Parma, son of Walter S. Wyman of Essex and the late Henrietta L. Wyman, he was a retired guidance counselor at DeSoto High School. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he was a member of Elks Lodge 689 and St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in DeSoto.
On Dec. 10, 1970, he married Juanita A. Rapp who survives of the home.
Survivors in addition to his wife and father include: two sons and a daughter-in-law, Bryan S. and Kirsten Wyman of St. Louis and Dr. Todd A. Wyman of Maplewood; one sister and brother-in-law, Sandra "Sandi" and Henry "Buck" Smith of Sikeston; and one grandchild, Tatum Rose Wyman of St. Louis.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in DeSoto with the Rev. Ron Hopmier officiating.
Full military graveside honors will be conducted at the Bluff Cemetery in Idalia.
