Norman LeGrand

ORAN -- Norman "LuLu" LeGrand, 79, died at 5 p.m. April 21, 2005, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Born Aug. 30, 1925, son of the late Zeno and Weldon Antonia Stike LeGrand, he retired in 1992 as a shipping clerk for International Hat Factory in Oran. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran, St. Joseph Sodality, Knights of Columbus Council 4311 and Morley VFW Post 5368.

On Sept. 5, 1951, he married Marjorie Asmus who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Patrick LeGrand of Oran; two daughters, Marcia Roslen and Michele Anderson of Oran; three brothers, Calvin LeGrand of Oran, Ronnie LeGrand of Dexter and Sam LeGrand of Cape Girardeau; six sisters, Judith King, Marilyn Diebold and Sandy Hahn of Oran, Betty Stewart of Clinton, Miss., Ruth Ann Urhahn of Benton and Arlene Harrell of Chaffee; and five grandchildren, one stepgranddaughter and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation begins at 5 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran with parish prayers at 7 p.m. and Knights of Columbus rosary at 7:15 p.m.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran. The Revs. John Harth, Normand Varone and Ed Carter and Monsignor Richard Rowling will officiate.

Burial with full military rites will follow in the Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery at Oran.

Pallbearers will be: Stanley Krapf, Garrett Roslen, Nick Anderson, Mark Asmus, Shawn Asmus and Ronnie Diebold.
