BLOOMFIELD - A successful investigation was reported by the Stoddard County Sheriff's Department.
According to reports, nine people were arrested as a result of a drug-related investigation by the SEMO Drug Task Force. The investigation began when a package addressed to a Dexter resident was intercepted in Texas. The Texas Department of Public Safety and Drug Enforcement Agency executed a search warrant for the package in McAllen, Texas, and found that it contained approximately three pounds of marijuana.
Postal inspectors from St. Louis brought the package to Dexter and assisted the Task Force with its delivery. Subsequently, other individuals came to a residence in Dexter to get their part of the drugs.
The nine suspects have been arrested and are in custody in the Stoddard County Jail with cash bond for each ranging from $75,000 to $500,000.
Arrested were Willie Sandavol of McAllen, bond, $500,000; Daniel Sandavol of Dudley, bond, $300,000; Mark Trosper of Tilton, Ill., bond, $250,000; Willie Bequette of Dexter, bond, $250,000; Chasity Cantrell of Dexter, bond, $125,000; Teddy Bradley of Bloomfield, bond, $250,000; Jasper Cantrell of Dexter, bond, $250,000; Christine Cantrell of Dexter, bond, $125,000; and Charlotte Sandlin of Bloomfield, bond, $75,000.
Although these have been arrested and charged with distribution of marijuana and possession of marijuana with the purpose to distribute, the investigation isn't over. Reports stated the investigation is continuing into other persons involved in the same conspiracy to distribute marijuana in the Dexter area.
Agencies assisting in the arrests were the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Dexter Police Department, Bloomfield Police Department and the Stoddard County Sheriff's department.
