CHARLESTON - William "Travis" Carter, 24, of rural Charleston, died unexpectedly at 3 p.m. Feb. 17, 2002, near Wyatt of an apparent heart attack.
Born July 9, 1977, in Effingham, Ill., son of Richard Lee Kuhlman and Mary Kramer Stringer of Effingham, he moved to Mississippi County in 1998 and was a truck driver for Star Transport in Martin, Ill. He was of the Protestant belief.
On Dec. 10, 1996, he married Denise Shelton who survives of the home.
Survivors in addition to his wife and parents include: one son, Dalton Lee Carter of the home; one daughter, Vanessa Rochelle Carter of the home; seven brothers, Eric Carter, Justin Finfrock, Caleb Stringer, Cole Stringer, Justin Kuhlman, Ian Kuhlman and Gabriel Kuhlman of Effingham; and one sister, Jessica Kuhlman of Effingham.
One sister, Brooke Stringer, preceded him in death.
Visitation is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
Visitation will continue from 9 a.m. Wednesday until service time at 11 a.m. at the Kuhl Funeral Home in Altamount, Ill.
Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery at Altamount.
