BENTON - Six hundred and forty youths, ages 18-20, signed up for selective service at 14 points in Scott County in the fifth registration, according to Clerk Norman Bugg of the draft board at Benton Thursday.

SIKESTON - A collector's edition Chevrolet Corvette, valued at over $22,500 was taken Thursday night from Terrell Auto Sales on East Malone Avenue, according to the Sikeston Department of Public Safety.

LILBOURN - The Little King and Queen crowned during Lilbourn's Summer Fun Days are Eric Williams of Essex and Megan Reeves of Malden. First runners-up in the contest, conducted for children ages 3 and 4, were Jerod and Jodi and second runners-up were Jordan and Brittany.

SIKESTON - Robert E. Wallace, commander-in-chief of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, has announced the award of a Golden Anniversary Citation to VFW Post 3174 in Sikeston. The Post will be 50 years old on July 19. In issuing the citation to Post Commander Thomas H. Boardman, Wallace congratulated all members of Post 3174 for the outstanding record they have achieved of service to the community, the veterans and to the nation over the past 50 years.
