SIKESTON -- Clara Sue Thompson, 61, died June 12, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

Born Sept. 16, 1942, in Essex, daughter of the late Harold Loran and Jewell Irene Nichols Hooks, she was a member of the Crow Congregational Methodist Church in Matthews. She was a cook for seven years for Sikeston Public Schools and then worked as a packer for Brown Shoe Co. for 18 years before retiring.

On June 23, 1960, at Tijuana, Mexico, she married Benny Royce Thompson who preceded her in death on Dec. 26, 1995.

Survivors include: two sons, Charles Harold "Chuck" Thompson and Timothy Royce "Tim" Thompson of Sikeston; one daughter, Felicia Kay Baker of Sikeston; and six grandchildren, Holly Kay Baker, Amy Jo Baker, Loran Boone Thompson, Skyluar Michelle Thompson, Lestyn Cole Thompson and Abigail Mae Thompson, all of Sikeston.

Visitation is from noon Monday until time for services at 2 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. The Rev. Bill McCormick, pastor of Grassy Friendship Church in Grassy, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
