Ferrell Excavating demolishes a chimney Thursday morning at the Cargill facility in Sikeston. "It was for an old flour mill that was here and was torn down in the '60s," said Paul Thell, farm service group manager for Cargill. "It was a very old chimney - we don't know exactly how old it was." Even though it had not been in use since the mill was town down, there was no need to demolish the chimney until now. "Recently bricks were starting to fall off the top," Thell said. "Of course, that's a safety hazard."
