EAST PRAIRIE - Jacob Carl "Jake" Ishmael, 80, died July 12, 2002, at his home.
Born Sept. 30, 1921, in East Prairie, son of the late Harry O. and Chessie B. Zook Ishmael, he lived in East Prairie all his life where he was a retired truck driver. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was of the Protestant belief.
On June 23, 1953, he married Ruth T. Nall who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, Elmo Ishmael of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Harry Lee and Pam Ishmael of Chaffee; two daughters and sons-in-law, Chessie and Les Keene and Donna L. and Larry Shands of East Prairie; two sisters, Lillian Emig of St. Charles and Alice Bell of East Prairie; and 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Jerry W. Zook; and two brothers and three sisters.
Visitation is from 9 a.m. today until service time at 2 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home. Bill Bradley will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
Pallbearers will be: David Nall, Richard Bennett, Brian Lambert, Lynn Britt, Robert Shands and Willard Turner.
