Advance beats Scott Central; ND holds off North County

CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Notre Dame pitcher Jeremy Brinkmeyer remained undefeated as the Bulldogs baseball team edged visiting North County 4-2 Thursday afternoon on senior day.

Notre Dame (15-6) has won 11 of its last 12 games. Brinkmeyer improved to 7-0 by scattering nine hits over seven innings. He struck out four. Shane Menz led Notre Dame (15-6) with two hits.

Trent Moses struck out 11 in six innings and collected three hits in a road win. Moses also added four RBIs. Cameron Stevens and Kevin Adkins had two hits apiece for the Hornets (15-2).

Caleb Guilliams won on the mound and had two hits to lead Delta (5-9) to a road win.

Guilliams pitched six innings, striking out nine and allowing one earned run off six hits. Austin Morrison suffered the loss for Oak Ridge despite giving up just five hits. Johnnie Price and Brian Ruesler had two hits apiece for the Bluejays (7-10).

SOFTBALL

Delt a concluded its spring season with five-inning shutout.

Senior Sarah Cook struck out nine and allowed one hit in improving her record to 9-1.

Cook also finished with three hits. Shea Smith and Amanda Drew had two hits apiece for Delta (14-2).

East Prairie edged Oran at home. Mandi Wood and Tori St. Cin had two hits apiece for Oran (13-5). Hanna Seyer suffered the loss.

Advance banged out four home runs in its season finale.

Bree Keene and Angela Broshuis each had three hits, including a home run apiece. Amber Wilson and Alicia Broshuis also hit home runs. Hanna Kennison added two hits for the Hornets (12-3).
