ORAN - Arthur John Eftink, 80, died at midnight Nov. 17, 2002, at the Chaffee Nursing Center.

Born May 18, 1922, in Portageville, son of the late John and Josephine Glastetter Eftink Jr., he was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church, St. Joseph Sodality and Knights of Columbus Council 4311 in Oran. He was a self-employed farmer.

On April 17, 1945, he married Adeline C. Jansen who preceded him in death on July 30, 1995.

Survivors include: three brothers, Fred Eftink of Quincy, Ill., Albert Eftink of Chaffee and Robert Eftink of Portageville; two sisters, Irene Brands of Portageville and Sister Nora Eftink with the Sisters of St. Joseph in St. Louis; and several nieces and nephews.

Two brothers and one sister also preceded him in death.

Visitation begins at 5 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran where parish prayers at 7 p.m. will be followed by a Knights of Columbus prayer service at 7:15 p.m.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Guardian Angel Catholic Church with the Rev. John Harth officiating.

Burial will follow in the Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery.
