ORAN - Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Tenkhoff, who have been here from his camp in California for a short visit with Mr. and Mrs. Leo Tenkhoff, left Monday.

SIKESTON - Lillian Rodman, a former resident of Sikeston, has retired after 18 years as secretary to warden at the men's penitentiary in Jefferson City. Mrs. Rodman has been secretary to three wardens since joining the Department of Corrections in 1947. She is the daughter of Mrs. Walter Kendall and sister of Mrs. L.I. Flewelling and Mrs. T.E. Stallings of Sikeston.

SIKESTON - New members of the Missouri Legislature continued their tour of the state with several stops in the area. The group toured the Sikeston Regional Center for the Developmentally Disabled. From Sikeston they traveled to Portageville for lunch at the University of Missouri Delta Research Center.

SIKESTON - Five new members will join the Sikeston Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Members announced at today's meeting are: Steve Huffstutler of Santie Oil, David Carnell of Carnell's Body Shop, Charles Ancell of Missouri Delta Medical Center, Larry DeWitt of DeWitt Company and Rick Sinclair of KSIM. Jerry Pullen of Pullen Brothers Trucking was re-elected to the board.


SIKESTON - As the charter bus pulled up beside the Sikeston Housing Authority, it brings to mind a school field trip. That is exactly what this is - a Missouri field trip - for 46 new state senators and representatives. Among the new legislators on the bus was Rep. Joe Heckemeyer of Sikeston. "We have traveled the four corners of Missouri," observed Heckemeyer. "This morning we are seeing the diversity of Southeast Missouri."
