I'm from Kelly and I wonder why the coach is not putting results of our track meets in the newspaper like Coach Davis always did. Coach Davis always did a good job of putting scores in there, no matter if we got first place or if we got last place.
I am interested in purchasing a used steam table for a church. If anyone has one for sale, please leave a phone number in SpeakOut.
I read the anti-litter campaign that was launched, according to the newspaper, on April 21. We had just returned from a trip to the south and saw in several different places where people were cleaning up litter along the highways. Why can't Missouri do that, state and county as well? It would save the state a lot of money and these people would get some exercise.
Have you seen the "Adopt-A-Highway" signs along major highways? Individuals and organizations "adopt" a section of roadway for this purpose. For more information, call Mark Aufdenberg at the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) at 472-5362.
The hummingbirds are here. I saw the first one on April 20, the rednecked ones, and they're hungry.
I saw on TV where they said the hummingbirds would be coming through this area on April 22, so I put my feeder out the day before. Sure enough, I saw three of them out there at different times. I don't know how in the world they can tell you that's going to happen, but it seems like they're always right.
I drove out to the flea market Saturday to buy some flowers, vegetables and cosmetics. Something needs to be done about
We went to the Azalea Festival in Charleston Saturday and Sunday and my family and I spent quite a bit of money. The City of Charleston gave us a calling card when we left. They put a parking sticker on our vehicle. We noticed there were several vehicles in a row. The vehicle behind us didn't get a sticker and the one in front of us didn't get a sticker. We did. But we had an out of town city sticker on our car and that's the only reason we can figure that we got one and the other 10 cars didn't. Also, interestingly enough, a KFVS-12 van pulled up and the lady cop who was giving tickets walked right by them and didn't give them one. So from now on, we'll save our money, spend it in our town and will no longer go to the City of Charleston's Azalea Festival, which has been a year-long deal for us for many, many years. We love it, but not when we get treated that way.
I would like to commend a girl who works at Wal-Mart. She is a cashier and her name is Lori Grant. She is very nice and it just makes the place better go into. When you go, let her check you out.
