LaRaven Newman, daughter of Franklin and Barbara Howard, is the Standard Democrat's Calendar Girl for February. Newman was the third attendant in the 2004 Miss Sikeston Pageant and is currently an operating room technician in the Army Reserves. After her time in the Reserves, she plans to attend college to get her degree in business.
