Born Feb. 9, 1943, in Newport, Ark., son of Delphine and Bill Nance of Portageville, he was a member of the Hayti First Baptist Church and a 1962 graduate of Hayti High School. He joined the U.S. Air Force on June 20, 1962, and left for Vietnam on Sept. 17, 1965.
In addition to his parents, survivors include: one sister, Diane Nance Buescher of Jackson; two brothers, Billy Max Nance Jr. of New Madrid and Gary Mark Nance of Davison, Mich.; and three nephews, Chris Nance, Travis Nance and Ben Buescher.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the John W. German Funeral Home in Hayti.
Full military rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
