SIKESTON - Medford Livingston, 77, died May 28, 2002, at his home.
Born Oct. 20, 1924, in Holt, Fla., son of the late George Joseph and Mary Gordon Livingston, he was of the Baptist belief. A 30-year veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served during World War II, the Korean War and early in the Vietnam War era, retiring as a gunners mate chief. He worked for the Sikeston Power Plant for 27 years before retiring.
On Jan. 17, 1952, at the Naval Base in Charleston, S.C., he married Doris I. Baker who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three daughters, Laura Kathleen Livingston Carter of Marlow, Okla., Melissa Ellen Livingston of Houston, Texas, and Medina Marie Livingston Wood of Conyers, Ga.; and five grandchildren, Daniel Medford Heaton of Oklahoma City, Okla., Charles Luther "Luke" Heaton and Adam Joseph Heaton of Marlow, Sean Paul Livingston of Houston and Hannah Beth Wood of Conyers.
Two brothers preceded him in death.
Visitation is from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at Ponder Funeral Home.
Full military graveside rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston. The Rev. Tom Geers, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church will conduct graveside services.
Members of the Military Honor Guard will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Roy Watkins, Daniel Heaton, Luke Heaton, Adam Heaton, Jerry Wood and Sam Carter.
