CHICAGO - Melvin Lewis Moore, 49, died at 7 p.m. Jan. 5, 2005, at the St. Agnes Nursing Facility in Chicago.

Born March 7, 1955, in Portageville, Mo., son of the Rev. Rea Moore of Portageville and the late Roberta Morrow Moore, he lived in Chicago for more than 25 years. He was a graduate of Portageville High School and of the Baptist belief.

Survivors in addition to his father include: four brothers, J.C. Morrow of Chicago, Elmos Moore of Columbus, Ohio, Odell Moore of Richton Park and Calvin Moore of Portageville; and two sisters, Lucille Moore Chillers of Portageville and Earsie Moore of Sikeston, Mo.

Visitation is from noon Saturday until service time at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Howardville, Mo. The Rev. Charles Bell, pastor, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Mason Cemetery at Point Pleasant, Mo.

Williams Funeral Home of Howardville is in charge of arrangements.
