DEXTER - Alma Blackman, 81, died March 6, 2008, at the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.
Born Nov. 5, 1926, in rural Campbell, daughter of the late Ezra and Maple Edwards Blackman, she had been a school teacher in the Bethany School of rural Campbell, a treasurer for the Bernie Public Schools and retired from the Bernie Bank after 43 years. She was a member of the MSH Hospital Auxiliary and the Bethany General Baptist Church, where she served for more than 50 years as treasurer.
Survivors include three nieces, Shirley Holtzhouser of Malden and Jean Whittenberg and Elaine Dowdy of Dexter; and three nephews, Jerry Jordan and Lynn Vincent of Campbell and Ronnie Vincent of Bernie.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Norma Jordan and Verma Vincent.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Brian Johnson officiating.
Burial will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
